Accreditation: The Toledo Hospital received Accreditation from the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organization (JCAHO) by scoring a 95 on the most recent accreditation survey. Formed in 1951, the Joint Commission is dedicated to improving the quality of the nation's health care through voluntary accreditation. The JCAHO surveys over 11,000 hospitals and 5,000 other health care organizations. The Toledo Hospital is a leading provider of health care and a referral center serving a 23 county area in northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan. The Toledo Hospital offers access to the area's largest board-certified medical staff with over 1,000 primary care and specialty physicians. We feature a number of services that truly set us apart. Foremost among these include: The Toledo Hospital Heart Institute, Center for Women's Health, Jobst Vascular Center, Emergency and Trauma Services: The region's preferred choice for emergency care, treating 75,000 patients annually, Outpatient Services and other acute care services of a large (721 bed) city hospital.
