Formed in 1951, the Joint Commission is dedicated to improving the quality of the nation's health care through voluntary accreditation. The JCAHO surveys over 11,000 hospitals and 5,000 other health care organizations. The Toledo Hospital is a leading provider of health care and a referral center serving a 23 county area in northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan.
