Mission Statement
Junior Achievement (JA) empowers young people to own their economic success. Our volunteer-delivered, K-12 programs foster work-readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy skills, and use experiential learning to inspire kids to dream big and reach their potential.
Description
Junior Achievement offers more than 20 age-appropriate educational programs that focus on business, citizenship, economics, entrepreneurship, ethics, financial literacy and career development for students in grades K-12 in schools and after school settings throughout Central Maryland.
JA impacts 4.6 million U.S. students in more than 201,000 classrooms . With the help of 218,000 volunteers , JA students develop the skills they need to experience the realities and opportunities of work and entrepreneurship in the 21st-century global marketplace.
Make an exciting difference in the future of local Kindergarten to 12th grade students by teaching them economic success skills! You can inspire young people to experience the realities and opportunities of the new global marketplace through Junior Achievement. JA, the nonprofit leader in providing innovative financial literacy, work-readiness, and entrepreneurship education, needs volunteers to take career- and life-skills mentoring into local classrooms.
