South County Outreach's Upscale Resale Thrift Store helps support our mission of ending hunger and homelessness in Orange County. Responsibilities: Thrift Store volunteers help with sorting donations, stocking shelves, cashiering, creating displays, and assisting customers while shopping. We are seeking personable and organized volunteers who like working with others. Time Commitment: We are currently looking for weekly, ongoing volunteers that can commit to one shift each week on Sunday (minimum of 3 - 4 hours). The Thrift Store is open Monday - Friday from 11am - 5pm , Saturday 10am - 4pm. Requirements: - We can provide register training for this position. - Must be 18 or older.

South County Outreach is in need of volunteers to help in our Food Pantry! Each month, our food pantry serves up to 3,000 families in need in South Orange County. This is an amazing opportunity to help families in need in your community and make an impact to help prevent hunger. Responsibilities: Food Pantry Volunteers assist clients with shopping for food, and they help sort through food donations, stock the pantry shelves, and keep the pantry clean and organized. We are looking for energetic and reliable volunteers to work at South County Outreach. Job responsibilities include assisting with making calls to clients that have applied to the utility portal. This includes helping them enroll to the SoCal Customer Assistance Programs ("CAP"). This is a program that helps lower their utility bill. If they are not already enrolled then the volunteer would assist them in enrolling them online. The whole process takes about 5 minutes. Our homeless prevention program helps residents of Orange County stay in their homes by providing financial assistance towards a household's rental arrears and overdue utilities, such as water, natural gas, and electricity. This is designed to prevent a sudden financial setback from becoming a long-term financil crisis. If interested please complete the attached application and return to me.

Responsibilities: Pantry Admin Volunteers are responsible for assisting clients with applications, connecting clients with resources, checking client profiles for up-to-date verification, and answering client questions. Time Commitment: We are currently looking for weekly, ongoing volunteers that can commit to one shift each week (3 - 4 hours). At this time, we're in need of volunteers for the AM/PM shift on Monday and Wednesday (8:30am - 12pm). Monday - Thursday: 8:30am - 12pm or 12pm - 3:30pm *Sometimes these shifts may vary (arriving 30 minutes early, staying 30 minutes later, etc.)
