Community Volunteers in Medicine (CVIM) is a community-based, volunteer non-profit organization providing primary medical and dental care to low income, working people in Chester County without insurance, enabling them to continue to be contributing members of the community.
Description
Primary Medical Care
CVIM combines highly skilled volunteers and community resources to provide primary medical to keep individuals well and "on the job" and to foster appropriate use of healthcare resources. Medical services include family medicine, pediatrics, gynecology, women’s health services, podiatry, cardiology, internal medicine, orthopedics, acupuncture, chiropractic and more. CVIM has development a virtual network of hundreds of physicians, hospitals and outpatient centers that provide specialty care in their respective locations.
Comprehensive Dental Services
CVIM is the primary adult dental provider for the uninsured in the County and sees on average 2 to 3 dental emergencies a day. Annually, CVIM provides dental care for more than 400 uninsured children who suffer from badly diseased teeth. With relief from pain, these children can eat nutritiously and thrive in school. The dental suite offers 6 operatories and our dental professionals provide cleanings, extractions, root canals, periodontic and orthodontic care. Preventative services include dental screenings, fluoride treatments and sealants.
