Volunteers Needed for VYT Performing Arts Classes Starting in January 2025

Valley Youth Theatre is in need of AMAZING Volunteers! If you are interested in gaining experience working with children, we are in need of volunteers to assist with our Winter session of performing arts classes beginning on January 11, 2025 and continuing until March 6, 2025. Class volunteers/interns assist our Teaching Artists while interacting with our students, helping to build their self-esteem and establish a positive environment, and gaining valuable experience in teaching the performing arts. Classes take place on weeknights beginning at 5:00 PM, and also on Saturday mornings and afternoons. We are happy to design a volunteer experience that utilizes your skillset, works with your schedule and allows you to obtain the experience and hours that you need! Interested? Email education@vyt.com or call 602.253.8188 x302 Please note, we are immediately seeking volunteers for the following class: Musical Theatre (Ages 5-8) This engaging class is a VYT tradition - and an excellent introduction to the world of musical theatre! Students will find self-confidence, discover natural talents, let their imaginations soar and start building their skills in acting, song and dance in this fun, foundational class. All experience levels are welcome! Saturdays, 11:15 AM - 12:15 PM |January 11 - March 1, 2025 | And/Or Playmakers (AGES 9+) In this creative class and performance troupe, students will learn how to build a play from the ground up! Starting with the writing process, students will find out what it takes to go from brainstorming, to writing, to editing and revising an original play. As an ensemble, students will then audition, cast, design, rehearse and perform in their own full-length piece, which will debut in front of a live audience for the first time on performance day. Explore the world of theatre through every angle with this fun-filled performance-based class! Valley Youth Theatre is a nonprofit organization that targets youth ages 7-19 for participation in and attendance at quality live theatre productions. Its positive impact on youth provides them with lifelong lessons through a wide range of performing arts opportunities.

VYT produces 6 mainstage shows each season both at our own theatre and at the Herberger. We are committed to the education, enlightenment and empowerment of young people through the arts.
