Believers United for Progress, a 501(c)(3) organization, was created in 2004 and incorporated in 2007, for the purpose of strengthening the community. We are mainly active in the Durham, North Carolina area, with strong ties to the Hayti neighborhood. By utilizing grants and donations we provide basic necessities like food to the people of the community through the Child Adult Care Program (CACFP) and Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). We have a strong focus on at-risk children and their families, which provides us with opportunities for new programs. With our ability to provide food and books we also provide for people in the community to come together and to have a place to give back, thus reinvesting in the communities themselves. Duties and Responsibilities: ● Establish and manage timelines, tasks and deadlines associated with grants cycle ● Draft compelling and persuasive grant proposals, detailing the needs, objectives, budget, and anticipated outcomes ● Submit the 2-3 high yielding grants each fiscal quarter; submit an additional 1-2 prospective grants each year ● Establish and maintain good relationships with foundation representatives as appropriate ● Develop and submit follow-up reports to funders ● Provide feedback and guidance on any restrictions that may exist with specific grants ● Provide quarterly progress reports to the Community Projects Director on grant submissions and secured funds ● Collaborate with Community Projects Director to gather necessary information for proposals and reports ● Maintain an organized database of all submitted grant applications/proposal including dates, outcome and feedback Required qualifications: ● Experience in all phases of the grant cycle (prospecting, proposal development, post-award reporting) ● Excellent verbal and written communication skills ● Strong attention to detail and extremely organized ● Excellent narrative writing and proposal development skills ● Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google programs (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, etc.) ● Have access to reliable computer Preferred qualifications: ● Entry-level experience in grant writing and reporting ● Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in business, non-profit administration, or related field Believers United for Progress, a 501(c)(3) organization, was created in 2004 and incorporated in 2007, for the purpose of strengthening the community. While we do not need the social media expert to work from our office in Durham, we prefer someone from the RTP (Durham, Raleigh, Cary etc.) area who can visit the office at least once a month.
