Mission Statement

Our mission is to protect and preserve Spring Hill Historic Home and to share with the community the history surrounding the home and the families who built it and lived there.

Description

Spring Hill Historic Home is the 1821 home of Quakers Thomas and Charity Rotch, who had founded the village of Kendal (a forerunner of Massillon) in 1812. It was later home to three generations of the Wales family. It is on the National Register of Historic Places and was a station on the Underground Railroad. Demonstrations of traditional crafts such as weaving and spinning, and our resident Merino sheep bring history to life for our visitors, whether they be students or adults.
