Be a Community Hero! Help Low- to Moderate Income Families at Tax Time.

Greeters, Tax Preparers, and Interpreters Needed! No experience necessary-- FREE training provided. Become a VITA Volunteer. Be a Community Hero! Last year, our VITA prepared over 7,200 returns and saved residents an estimated $2 million on preparation fees and returning over $7 million in tax refunds to our community. Be a part of the action! Join VITA today! Attend a FREE Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) training class (Online & Virtual Options available) to become IRS certified for next tax season (Jan-April) As an IRS certified trained Tax Preparer, volunteers will assist qualified clients by preparing simple tax returns. All volunteers receive comprehensive training and certification in partnership with the IRS. The United Way is recruiting volunteers to serve at sites in person and online throughout Lee, Hendry, Glades, & Charlotte Counties---sand in Immokalee too! Beesley’s Paw Prints Pet Therapy teams visit partner agencies, organizations, courts, and schools. Interacting with animals can stimulate laughter and joy in people whose lives have been affected by illness or depression. Playing with pets can stimulate adults and children to become more physically active too. Join the Beesley’s Paw Prints team with your own registered pet, or let us guide you on getting your pet registered. We can guarantee it will be a rewarding experience for you both! Beesley’s Paw Prints is a United Way collaborative within our network of partners including Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) and Gulf Coast Humane Society (GCHS). The program is generously supported by Carol Beesley. Note: Must be 18 to be on a Pet Therapy team . Dogs and their handlers are registered by national organizations such as Alliance for Therapy Dogs, Pet Partners, Love On A Leash, or Therapy Dogs International. Therapy dogs undergo testing to assure they have good manners and react positively to strangers. Pets in the program are: Clean & well-groomed Have good manners Up-to-date on vaccines Covered by insurance of a national therapy dog organization Over one year in age Do you think your dog would be a great addition to our Beesley’s Paw Prints program? All breeds and blends are eligible to become therapy dogs except for coyote or wolf blends.
