The Lucas County CASA/GAL Program mission is to serve the best interests of abused and neglected children. We promote and support quality volunteer advocacy for children, to provide each child a safe, permanent, nurturing home.

Description

Forty-three year old CASA/GAL program with over 200 active volunteer advocates. A CASA volunteer serves as guardian ad litem and has party status to the Juvenile Court case. Program strongly supported by Juvenile Judge and Magistrates. Forty hour initial training and 12 hours annual training required. CASA volunteers are sworn officers of the Court. Administrative staff includes director, staff attorney, and recruitment/training coordinator. Full time secretarial staff on duty to serve volunteers. Highly respected program within the community.
