Mission Statement

Henrico CASA provides trained community volunteers to advocate for the best interest of children who are the subject of judicial proceedings involving allegations of abuse or neglect. Henrico CASA works within the court system to assist in providing each child a safe permanent home. Henrico CASA seeks to educate the community about the needs of abused and neglected children.

Description

Henrico Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) is a non-profit organization that was established in 1994. The program was developed to assist the Juvenile Courts to prevent repeated victimization of abused and neglected children. CASA volunteers are appointed by judges to gather and report information about the child's situation and service needs, and to help the court to ensure the child's safety.
