Description

Feline Rescue, Inc. is a Minnesota based no-kill companion cat rescue organization. Our founders established Feline Rescue in 1997 in Minneapolis, MN as a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization. We are an all volunteer organization, with no paid staff. We are funded exclusively through donations and grants. We receive no municipal, state, or federal funding.

Our mission is to provide safe shelter, veterinary care, and socialization for stray, abandoned or abused cats until good permanent homes can be found for them. Our mission does not enable us to accept owner surrendered animals.

We provide rescue and relief to the homeless and endangered cats in our community through programs that offer shelter, foster, social and medical rehabilitation, feral cat colony management, spay/neuter subsidy, and community education.

This is a great place to volunteer if you truly love cats. The shifts are set up (mostly 2-hours at a time) so that there are enough people to get the clean-up done with plenty of time left to really work with the cats. Also, it's a great place for the kitties. I would definitely recommend this opportunity to fellow cat lovers.

I've never volunteered here; however, my roommate does and she loves every second of it. Also, I've been lucky enough to tour the shelter and it is definitely a hospitable place for cats. No bare concrete floors with troughs for the cats to eat out of or a huge mound of sand in the middle of the room as a litter box...nope, this shelter is warm, inviting, and does everything possible to make the cat's stay there an enjoyable one until they can be adopted! I highly recommend this organization!
