Mission Statement

The purpose of the Cape Fear Botanical Garden is to enrich, inspire and serve the Cape Fear Region as a dynamic center for the collection, culture, and aesthetic display of plants; to encourage the enjoyment of the natural beauty of plants and birds; to promote environmental stewardship; and to provide educational and research resources for the community.

Description

Situated on the bluffs of the Cape Fear River, at the confluence of the Cape Fear River and the Cross Creek River, The Cape Fear Botanical Garden maintains original, old growth forest and plants indigenous to the area. The 85-acre garden is comprised of both formal, cultivated gardens and natural woodland areas intersected with a network of over 3 miles of barrier-free foot-trails with interpretive signs that provide for a scenic and educational exploration of the forest above the river.

The Garden offers educational opportunities, tours, and various seasonal events, therapeutic horticulture workshops that cater to seniors, groups/ individuals with diverse needs and much more. Volunteer with us, we are interested in seeing what you have to offer !
