Mission Statement

Our mission is to foster a healthy, thriving and self-sufficient Southeast Asian American community.

Description

Founded in 1977 as the first agency serving the Southeast Asian community of San Francisco, SEADC today serves 500 youth and adults annually across the broader Bay Area through a range of critical social services. Founded in response to the new influx of Vietnamese refugee immigrants who settled in San Francisco after fleeing the trauma of war, SEADC initially focused on meeting the needs of newly arrived youth establishing a new life in the U.S. Starting with 20 "clients," the agency established itself as a key service provider to Vietnamese immigrant youth. Nearly 50 years later, the agency has grown exponentially to deliver a spectrum of services that position SEADC as the go-to resource for Southeast Asian families seeking a path out of poverty and a brighter and more prosperous future.
