Rise Up Lynchburg is a grassroots-powered nonprofit built on the belief that the people closest to the challenges are also closest to the solutions. Founded to address systemic inequities and empower underserved communities, we’ve grown into a dynamic hub for innovation, volunteerism, and action in the Greater Lynchburg area. Our work centers around community voice, youth leadership, and economic opportunity. From creating safe, affordable transportation through RideBIG to generating jobs through social enterprises like RiseCLEAN, TaskTOGETHER, and NextGEN Auto Detail, we connect people to purpose while strengthening neighborhoods from within. We also drive mentoring and education efforts through initiatives like MissionBIG, a school-based mentoring collaboration that connects college students with local youth. Our programs are designed to uplift, equip, and activate-whether it’s through workforce development, volunteer engagement, or grassroots community organizing.
