Mission Statement

The Presque Isle Light Station is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation dedicated to the preserving Erie's historic lighthouses, educating the community on their value, and interpreting them for future generations.

Description

For over 10 years, Presque Isle Light Station | Lake Erie Lights of PA has cultivated a team of volunteers and staff dedicated to the preservation and education of Erie, Pennsylvania's lighthouses. We operate two locations, Presque Isle Lighthouse and Erie Land Lighthouse, from late May through October and service over 15,000 guests annually.

At Lake Erie Lights, volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. Our dedicated and passionate volunteers are key to the success of our public engagement programs, daily operations, special events, and preservation work. These efforts keep us closer to the truth of what these historic lighthouses have to offer: a connection to the past and inspiration for the future.

We offer a wide variety of volunteer positions and opportunities, for individuals, groups, and corporations, to match the unique skillsets of our volunteers:

  • Education (historical interpretation, group tours, special events)
  • Visitor Services
  • Gift Shop Salesclerk
  • Gardening and Grounds Maintenance
We accept volunteers from ages 8 and up (ages 8 - 16 require an adult to volunteer with them). For groups, school programs, or corporate programs - contact admin@presqueislelighthouse with your request.
