Mission Statement
Our mission is simple. Inspire kids to fall in love with wildlife using art and education. We believe the more you learn, the more you love, the more you protect.
Description
A Brief History:
Our nonprofit began with the mission to help save the critically endangered American Red Wolf. With fewer than 30 left in the wild, our founders, Dale and Loti, sought to raise awareness. Dale, a wildlife sculptor, created a Red Wolf mom and pup sculpture, producing limited edition castings donated to 40 of the 50 US conservation organizations working to save them.
At the same time, we taught a class of 3rd graders about Red Wolves. Their immediate question, "How can we save them?" inspired us to educate the next generation of wildlife champions.
Our Programs:
We’ve expanded our lessons to cover not only the Red Wolf, but also pollinators, bats, opossums, hellbenders, and birds. Our Nature In Your Backyard program teaches kids the importance of enjoying the outdoors through nature journaling. Through these programs, students learn about monarch migration, animal adaptations, and native plants.
In early 2024, we planted our first pollinator garden! This fall, we planted two more pollinator gardens at Polk County Schools! Our long-term goal is to provide interactive lessons for teachers and parents that meet state standards through STEM and STEAM activities and our vision is to spark a lifelong passion for conservation and empower kids to become champions for wildlife.
