I Am Global Academy uses the power of learning and relationships to fuel the futures of individuals who are impacted by social oppression-primarily those coming from human trafficking contexts. With a personalized virtual tutoring service, we come alongside local partners doing the work on the ground to provide the gift of reading, writing, and speaking English. We form ongoing relationships that help build learners' confidence and improve their English so they can continue their education, move into viable careers and contribute to their communities in meaningful ways. Incoming learners have a basic understanding of the English language when they begin their journey with us. Some entry-level learners begin with us already reading but not yet comprehending English. T utors help turn rote English acquisition into applied, purposeful conversation which supports lifelong learning competence and confidence. Behind the scenes, we have an array of volunteers who help with our infrastructure, operations, learning development, communications, technology, community and donor engagement, partnerships, and strategic planning to keep our organization vibrantly relational, emergently innovative, and fiercely pursuing justice.
