Description
The National Coast Trail Association (NCTA) was established with the vision of creating a comprehensive trail system along the entire coastline of the United States. The concept emerged in the early 1990s, with significant focus on the development of America's West Coast Trail, which was envisioned to stretch approximately 1,800 miles from Washington's NW tip to California at the Mexican border. The NCTA's foundational goal was to connect various coastal trails into a single, continuous route that enhances public access to coastal areas while promoting environmental conservation. It has now evolved to focus to complete, protect and improve the Oregon Coast Trail throught its programs of trail development, education and advocacy, and conservation. After three decades of work, a variety of achievements have been realized in collaboration with others, and our efforts have contributed to the development of the Fort-to-Sea Trail, Oregon Coast Trail, Corvallis-to-Sea Trail. We have been dedicated in our involvement with the development of the Oregon Coast Trail Action Plan, providing extensive input and recommendations, and are now focused on its effective implementation.
