Mission Statement

We rescue at-risk horses, mules, donkeys and ponies through owner surrender, abandonment, kill pens and auction houses. We rescue, rehabilitate, and find forever homes for these equines while also involving them in Equine Assisted Education and Equine Assisted Therapy working with k through 12 children, first responders, veterans, disabled and others who benefit from these programs. Our active community membership also provides instruction and training including rescue rides, riding camps and classes and trail riding challenges to build better partnerships between new and veteran riders. We also have a hay subsidy program for those horse owners struggling on a short-term basis.

Description

Since our establishment, we have made significant strides in rescuing and rehoming equines in dire situations. I am delighted to inform you that we have successfully trained and retrained 32 horses, mules, donkeys, and ponies and found forever homes for 43. We have worked with 30 school children, involved 35 adults in therapeutic work with the horses, rescued and rehabilitated 9 local owner surrendered horses, 6 of whom have already found their forever homes. We established a bathroom facility for guest use. We created an elementary school curriculum being reviewed by the Mountain Empire School District. We have made connections with several home-schooling organizations and a local and regional veterans association toward providing low or no-cost Equine Assisted Therapy and education and are involved with various children’s sports teams as a team building experience focused on our horses and the ranch. We need volunteers 7 days per week, 365 days per year. We begin morning feeding at 7:30 and work until dark. Please let us know when you can visit for a tour and orientation.
