Warehouse Help

We are looking for someone to assist our warehouse manager with intake of donated items. This includes coordinating with donors and arranging to be at the warehouse to help unload donated furniture.

Donation Pick Ups

Flexible Schedule | Madison, WI 53704

We are looking for a pair of volunteers to be able to help pickup donated items (requires heavy moving of furniture) from homes in Dane County and bring them to our warehouse. Ideally, you would work with a friend/partner and would be able to coordinate pickup schedules with donors who need items to be transported to our warehouse (at least once a month for a few hours with our delivery truck).

Deliveries to Families

We always need volunteers to help deliver the household items to the families. Most of our delivery days are scheduled in advance for a Saturday morning, so you can choose when you can help us deliver furniture to the families we are helping. The sign up for delivery days is at https://bit.ly/ SignupFDCDelivery along with more details. Please sign up for any date that works for you. Volunteers need to arrive at our storage warehouse by 9:30 a.m. to load up our delivery truck (and your vehicles with small items, if neeeded). The group then makes deliveries to families we are serving in Dane County. You will be given the locations at the warehouse or asked to follow the delivery truck. Once we unload the last family's items, you're welcome to leave from that last location unless you are part of the team driving the delivery truck back to our storage warehouse. Please make sure to dress appropriately for moving/hauling furniture and items to and from the delivery truck to our clients. And please make sure that your vehicle's gas tank is filled for the trip. (Since we are a 501(c)(3), your mileage is tax deductible.)

Often, women escaping domestic violence must leave their homes with only what they can carry. Our mission is to help these women create comfortable and welcoming environments for their families by delivering new and gently used items donated by our supporters.

Description

Felicia’s Donation Closet is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting survivors of domestic abuse. We provide furniture and household essentials to help individuals transition to safer living situations away from their abusers.

We collaborate with partner agencies across Dane County to serve those in need, ensuring they receive the support they deserve during their difficult journey.
