VOLUNTEERS NEEDED-Bexar Hospice

At Bexar Hospice, we provide our patients who are diagnoised with a terminal illness with physical, emotional, and spiritual care. Our patients need volunteers like yourself to help comfort them on journey to peace. The People Who Love People (P.W.L.P) Volunteer Program at Bexar Hospice allow you to share your compassion while offering invaluable support to our patients and their families. Volunteer hours vary based on your schedule. Volunteer Opportunities include: Patient Companionship Caregiver Relief Emtional and Spiritual Support Music and Art Therapy Light Meal Preparation Caregiver Respite Light Housekeeping Bible Reading Gardening Letter Mailing Community Education Playing Cards/Board Games And More Each of our volunteers must meet the same requirements and standards as our hospice staff performing similar activities. Come join our P.W.L.P volunteer program and experience the fullfillment of making a difference in someone's life.

Spanish Speaking Hospice Volunteer

We at Bexar Hospice have several patients that are bilingual, mainly speaking Spanish and English. We are looking for some compassionate and caring bilingual individuls who are interested in providing companionship to our biligual patients. Our People Who Love People volunteer program allows one to share their compassion and empathy, while offering invaluable support to our patients and their families. Volunteer opportunities can include: patient companionship, caregiver relief, playing games and puzzles, and many more Our volunteer team works with you and your schedule to provide the best experience for you and our patients. We typically ask for 1 visit per month. Volunteers do have to to meet the same standards and requirements of our staff performing similar activities.

When used as therapies, music and art can provide patients with a way to reduce stress and anxiety, enhance socialization, and boost emotional well-being. If you are interested in sharing your amazing musicical or artistic talents with our patients, we'd love to have you join our Bexar Hospice Volunteer Team!
