Mission Statement

Description
The Kansas Birth Justice Society (KBJS) is dedicated to advancing equitable maternal and child health by addressing disparities, advocating for policy change, and supporting families across the state. Through programs like lactation consulting, doula services, birthing classes, and community advocacy, KBJS empowers birthing people, particularly those from marginalized communities, to access culturally competent care. Since its founding, KBJS has successfully influenced state policies, focused on reducing racial disparities in maternal/infant health, and supported hundreds of families with direct services and resources. Volunteering with KBJS offers the opportunity to be part of a passionate movement for systemic change, making a tangible impact on birth justice in Kansas.
