Mission Statement

African Dance & Arts Summer Festival, Inc. (ADASF) mission is to cultivate the minds of our future generations; All while, mobilizing the African arts educational system to ignite the children’s interest in learning more about cultural arts expressions, community collectiveness, & the building blocks for a successful future. Goal: host monthly social and recreational activities for youths, thereby, reduce potential high-risk situations such as drugs and gang activity.

Description

The African Dance & Arts Summer Festival, Inc. (ADASF) host an annual festival for children between the ages of 6 months to 17 years old. The festival boast a variety of interactive workshops facilitated by professional artists, a vendors village and live performances for the purpose of culture awareness and to empower youths to pursue their artistic pursuits.

Goal: host monthly social and recreational events for youths, thereby, reduce the potential high-risk situations such as drugs and gang activity.

Programs: African dance and drum classes, yoga, capoeira, community drum circle, arts & craft and community art projects.

Achievements: Parent seeking new culture and experiences for their children. The local community love to see their cultural heritage celebrated and represented with great enthusiasm and respect. This indirectly teaches that everyone is important and builds self-confidence to pursue their passion.
