Mission Statement
The mission of the Hilliard Food Pantry Plus is to improve the well-being of our community by providing food and support.
Description
Founded 60 years ago, we are funded entirely from contributions of individuals, businesses and organizations. The organization formed in 1960 and incorporated in 1963. The original name was the Hilliard Community Welfare Council. Support came from contributions from individuals and organizations, door-to-door solicitation, and fundraisers. The major fundraiser of the time was an annual skating party. For many years, the pantry was housed in what used to be the "Old Jail" in Downtown Hilliard.
The Hilliard Food Pantry Plus is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. It's managed by a volunteer board of not more than 17 members. There are 4 full-time employees. 8 part-time employees, and 2 AmeriCorps VISTA members.
In 2023, the Hilliard Food Pantry Plus served 13,649 people in our community. Families are eligible to receive a five-day supply of food twice a month.
