Description

GreenDreamsWomen was established in 2014 to address the crucial issue of chronic unemployment amongst the more than 80,000 women-headed households in post-conflict Sri Lanka in 2013. Our vision is to create a thriving ecosystem in Sri Lanka where empowered women rebuild their lives and communities, fostering sustainable economic growth and reconciliation across ethnic divides.

We believe in slow, sustained, and sustainable development which has a progressive impact on the lives of our project recipients and their kids. We are mindful of our ecological footprint and never hasten our graduates to heal faster than they are able to in order to be marketable. Our empowerment center located in Jaffna town serves as a haven for women to congregate and to access resources that are not easily available to women aspiring to make a decent living in the war-affected north of the country. We work with local partners to provide training and marketing services crucial to rebuilding the lives of those affected by the conflict.
