Mission Statement

The goal of Curtain Call, Inc. is to provide an outlet for artistic expression in Fairfield County while entertaining the general public, and to provide a safe and nurturing environment for learning for all ages.

Description

Founded in 1990 in association with The Stamford Community Arts Council, Curtain Call moved to our present location in the Sterling Farms Theatre Complex in 1992 - in cooperation with the City of Stamford. Our offices and theatres are located on the Sterling Farms Theatre Complex at 1349 Newfield Avenue, Stamford, CT 06905.

Curtain Call is Stamford’s longest-running, and only nonprofit producing theatre company. With year-round performances in The Kweskin Theatre and The Dressing Room Theatre - conveniently located at Sterling Farms in Stamford - we also produce an annual free outdoor Shakespeare production. With at least 12 full-scale productions each year, plus many other special events (Comedy Nights, Concerts, etc.) we entertain more than 30,000 patrons annually. Additionally, we offer a full curriculum of performing arts programming for ages five through adult.

Get involved with Curtain Call and learn why for ten years running, we have been named Fairfield County’s Best Local Theatre Group. Also, in a state-wide FaceBook poll administered by the CT Tourism Board in August 2012, Curtain Call was the State’s Favorite Theatre Site. In 2011 Curtain Call received the prestigious GOVERNOR’S AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN CULTURE AND TOURISM. In 2016, we received the ACE AWARD for Excellence in the Arts from the Cultural Alliance of Fairfield County. Executive Director, Lou Ursone, was named State Arts Administrator of the Year in 2008 and honored with The Elizabeth Mahaffey Fellowship.
