Description
At Shared With Care, we believe that access to quality education is a fundamental right, not a privilege.
In 2023-2024, we fundraised for two months during the holiday season into January at the Stanley & Bernal Starbucks, with over 120 school supplies (including stationery, binders, novels, children's books, and more) being donated to the Philippines and distributed by the Black Pencil Project. Thanks to our Starbucks Fundraiser and our partnership with the @penciltreks (Black Pencil Project) team, essential school supplies have reached the Aeta children in Sitio Lawin, Baranguay. Labney, Mayantoc.
Through our partnership with Mayantoc Youth For Peace and collaboration with the Alpha "Avenger" Company of the 71st Infantry Battalion-Philippine Army, essential school supplies from our recent efforts have reached remote locations in Mayantoc, Tarlac. These supplies are crucial for remedial classes benefiting indigenous Aeta children, ensuring they have the tools needed to learn and grow.
We were also part of the 2023 Amador Valley Centennial Parade, a celebration of the 100 years of Amador Valley High School's establishment, in Downtown Pleasanton, during which flyers promoting Shared With Care were distributed at the Museum on Main, a cultural focal point that preserves and showcases the rich history and heritage of the Pleasanton community and the broader Tri-Valley region.

Volunteering with Shared With Care has been an incredibly fulfilling experience. As a graphic designer, I earned 30 volunteer hours by creating educational posters, E-Cards, and holiday worksheets that were distributed to underserved communities in America and worldwide. Each project had a clear purpose, from designing visually engaging posters to crafting E-Cards and holiday worksheets that brought joy and encouraged learning.
The team at Shared With Care was incredibly supportive throughout the entirety I volunteered with them. They provided me with clear instructions, feedback, and encouragement. Their guidance ensured my work aligned with their mission of spreading and promoting educational equity while allowing me to showcase my own creativity and make a meaningful impact.
