Mission Statement
Coptic Orthodox Charities, (C.O.C) mission is to serve minority groups who are economically or physically disadvantaged by promoting and fostering health, strengthening families through education, alleviating poverty, and promoting self-sufficiency. A significant part of our work involves supporting survivors of human trafficking, providing them with the resources and care they need to rebuild their lives.
Description
Since 2001, we have partnered with the United States federal, state, and local government agencies, community organizations, healthcare providers, and social services to drive diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, assisting refugees, survivors of torture, and human trafficking survivors to achieve self-sufficiency. In addition, our work advances numerous United Nations’ sustainable development goals (SDGs) such as good health and well-being (3), decent work and economic growth (8), reduced inequalities (10), and peace, justice, and strong institutions (16). Over 80% of our staff, volunteers, and board members also reflect the populations we serve. Moreover, our organization serves the target population regardless of age, race, sex, religion, economic condition, or country of origin.
