ABOUT Asian Connections Hub (ACH) Asian Connections Hub (ACH) is a non-profit organization designing an online directory community space where diverse groups can coexist, connect, discover each other. Our mission and goal is to build community and bring people together by fostering collaboration, networking, and knowledge sharing. We aim to create a safe space for a broader diaspora, including mainland, immigrant, adoptee, indigenous individuals. OVERVIEW As a Volunteer Graphic Designer for the Sunnyside division of Asian Connections Hub, you will play a crucial role in creating visually appealing and impactful designs that communicate our mission, values, and initiatives. Your designs will be instrumental in promoting mental health and well-being within the Asian and BIPOC communities through our innovative technology solutions, particularly the Sunnyside mental health app. Responsibilities: Create visually compelling graphics, illustrations, and layouts for various digital platforms including social media, website, and app interfaces. Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to develop visual assets that align with our brand identity and messaging. Design promotional materials such as posters, flyers, and banners for events, campaigns, and fundraising initiatives. Assist in the creation of infographics and data visualizations to communicate complex information in a clear and engaging manner. Ensure consistency in design elements and brand guidelines across all communication channels. Stay updated on design trends, techniques, and tools to continually improve the quality and effectiveness of our visual content. Contribute to brainstorming sessions and provide creative input for marketing strategies and campaign concepts. QUALIFICATIONS Proficiency in graphic design software such as Canva and Figma Strong portfolio showcasing your design skills and creativity. Excellent understanding of typography, color theory, and visual hierarchy. Ability to work independently as well as collaborate effectively within a team. Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Passion for mental health advocacy and commitment to promoting well-being within diverse communities. OVERVIEW We are seeking a dedicated and organized Copywriter to join Asian Connections Hub. This role is essential in helping us craft compelling and impactful content that resonates with our audience and drives our mission forward. RESPONSIBILITIES Write engaging and informative content for our website, blog, newsletters, and social media channels. Develop clear and persuasive copy for marketing materials, including email campaigns, promotional content, and event descriptions. Collaborate with the marketing and design teams to ensure consistent messaging and branding across all platforms. Edit and proofread content to ensure accuracy, clarity, and alignment with our brand voice. Conduct research to stay informed about relevant topics and trends within the Asian community. Assist in developing content strategies that support our mission and goals. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Proven experience in copywriting, preferably in a volunteer or non-profit setting. Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills. Strong understanding of content marketing principles and best practices. Ability to adapt writing style to different audiences and platforms. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring a smooth and welcoming onboarding experience for new volunteers, helping them integrate into our team and contribute effectively to our mission. RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and implement an onboarding process and training program for new volunteers, including orientation materials, training sessions, and resource guides. Coordinate the recruitment and selection of volunteers, working closely with the human resources coordinator and other team members to identify needs and match volunteers with suitable roles. Conduct onboarding sessions and training workshops for new volunteers, providing them with essential information about our organization, mission, and programs. Serve as the main point of contact for new volunteers, answering questions, addressing concerns, and providing guidance as needed throughout the onboarding process. Collaborate with team leaders and project managers to onboard volunteers onto specific projects and initiatives, ensuring they have the necessary tools, resources, and support to succeed. QUALIFICATIONS Previous experience in volunteer management, human resources, or related field preferred. Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks and stakeholders effectively. Empathy and interpersonal skills to engage with volunteers from diverse backgrounds and make them feel valued and supported. Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing challenges and improving processes. RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract volunteers with diverse backgrounds and skill sets, leveraging various channels such as online platforms, social media, networking events, and community partnerships. Collaborate with department heads and project managers to understand volunteer needs and requirements for specific roles and projects. Create compelling job descriptions and recruitment materials that accurately reflect the responsibilities, qualifications, and benefits of volunteer positions. You will be responsible for leading the development and evolution of our website and other digital products, ensuring they align with our mission, values, and community's requirements. The successful candidate will combine strategic thinking, technical acumen, and user-centric mindset to drive the continuous improvement of our online platform and maximize its impact. You will be assigned to work on our Sunnyside, mental health app. RESPONSIBILITIES Product Strategy Collaborate with the leadership team to define and execute the product vision, strategy, and roadmap. Understand user needs, market trends, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities for growth and improvement. Requirements Gathering Work closely with stakeholders, community members, and user groups to gather insights, feedback, and requirements to inform product decisions. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders. Passion for the mission of Asian Connections Hub and a genuine interest in building a positive impact within the community. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of Asian cultures is a plus but not required.
