Senior Citizens Card Writing Volunteer (service hours included)

SCF Volunteers are the reason we are able to make the impact we do to seniors across the nation. Volunteers write cards that make seniors excited about their day! Senior Care First runs solely because of the support we receive from our volunteers. At Senior Care First, we believe that any sized effort to make a difference is a difference nonetheless. Making cards for seniors have such a huge impact on their days. Volunteers like YOU help them feel a little less alone each day. This effort started with small motivational cards for senior citizens to help them get through this day, and has grown to include seasonal cards for the holidays. Writing cards for seniors is not only to put lighten up the days of seniors but also to let them know there is a support system outside of their homes filled with loving young members of their community. There is no specific way to make the cards since YOU, the volunteer, have creative liberty. However, we encourage volunteers to use bright colors and inspiring messages to share love for the seniors. We have heard several positive messages from senior homes after receiving cards from SCF. From writing general motivational and inspiring cards to holiday related cards, we give them all.

Flexible Schedule | Virtual Opportunity

Help SCF get increase involvement from the communtiy through Instagram reels and TikToks. We hoep to leverage the community and algorithms of social media to help showcase the work that SCF has done as well as increase involvement. In this role, you must be comfortable with showing your face, know the trends on TikTok, and be willing to post 5 times a week. You will be interviewed and on a trial period before you are officially our social media manager.

Mission Statement

Senior Care First Foundation (SCF) is a youth-led 501(c)(3) certified nonprofit dedicated to supporting seniors around the nation. Our goal is to put smiles on the faces of seniors by showing them the love and care they deserve from our community. We have designed, written, and donated cards to seniors and have fundraised for dementia research. We hope for them to never feel alone because in our minds, seniors are first.

Description

Senior Care First Foundation was founded in 2022 and has grown significantly since. The 501(c)(3) nonprofit has distributed over 2,000 cards to over 15 senior homes, raised over $1,250 for the Alzheimer's Association, and gained support from over 75 volunteers.
