Teaching Assistant Volunteer Join our project to help students overcome underperformance, dropout, and discouragement, as well as early marriages. By volunteering, you’ll directly contribute to students' success and help them achieve their academic goals. Volunteer Main Tasks: As a volunteer, you’ll assist by: Preparing lesson plans for teachers. Marking exercises and homework. Awarding scores and recording progress. Encouraging students to feel confident in their studies. Taking on other related tasks. Eliminate Mosquito Breeding Grounds: Problem: Standing water and other breeding sites increase mosquito numbers. Solution: Remove or treat breeding sites to decrease mosquito populations by up to 50%. This reduces the risk of malaria transmission. Distribute Mosquito Nets: Problem: Lack of protective measures exposes families to malaria. Solution: Provide insecticide-treated nets to families, which can lower malaria cases by 40% and protect vulnerable populations, including women and children. Share Data with Team and Ministry of Health: Problem: Effective malaria control requires up-to-date information. Solution: Collect and share data on mosquito breeding sites and malaria cases to support informed decision-making and improve intervention strategies. This helps address the main reasons they left and allows them to return to school. We're inviting volunteers worldwide to join our Education Reentry Service Fundraising initiative. Volunteer Main Tasks: As a volunteer, you’ll help us reach our $23,150 fundraising goal by: Writing and sending grant proposals Setting up a crowdfunding platform Organizing fundraising events Encouraging others to support our efforts Taking on other related tasks We Support: 10 Primary School Students: $950 per year for school supplies 10 High School Students: $2,200 per year for tuition and supplies 10 University Students: $20,000 per year for tuition and supplies Location: You can work remotely or on-site. Kyani Nyanza Primary School, in Uganda, has been operating for 22 years without proper classrooms or toilets. Students are currently learning and teachers are working under trees, with everyone using the trees as makeshift toilets. The lack of classrooms is exposing students to harsh weather, including intense heat and heavy rains, which is leading to frequent disruptions in their education. These conditions are contributing to higher dropout rates, early marriages, discouragement, and health issues like flu and pneumonia. Without toilets, the community's land and water sources are becoming contaminated with disease-causing germs, leading to intestinal worms, frequent illnesses, absenteeism, and even school closures. With your support, we will build 18 much-needed classrooms at $10,000 each and 22 toilets at $2,000 each, creating a safe and comfortable learning environment for students. This will reduce school disruptions, improving health, and enhancing overall performance and attendance. The building plan, currently being designed by EWB-Seattle, will be completed soon.
