Mission Statement
MAKING EVERY YARD AN EDEN At Neighbors Eden Project, we firmly believe in the transformative power of community and compassion. Our mission is to provide essential yard work and gardening services to support our elderly and disabled neighbors. We actively collaborate with other nonprofits, including Senior Life Midland, Meals on Wheels, Adult Protective Services, and Casa de Amigos, to extend our reach and effectively serve those in need. We go out every Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. to work our yards! Together, we strive to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our neighbors and foster a stronger, more supportive community for all.
Description
The Neighbors Eden Project is dedicated to supporting elderly and disabled neighbors by providing essential yard work and gardening services. Our mission is to enhance the quality of life for those in need by fostering a sense of community and compassion. We collaborate with other nonprofits like Senior Life Midland, Meals on Wheels, Adult Protective Services, and Casa de Amigos to extend our reach and effectively serve our community.
Founded with the belief in the transformative power of community, Neighbors Eden Project organizes weekly volunteer sessions every Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. Volunteers, often referred to as "Yard Heroes," help with tasks such as yard work, gardening, and seasonal cleanups, ensuring that our elderly and disabled neighbors can maintain their homes without the financial burden of fines for overgrown yards .
Our organization is driven by a dedicated team, including our board members who bring diverse expertise and a shared commitment to making a positive impact. Key figures include President Jake Smith, Vice President Steven O’Dell, Secretary Kate Valenzuela, Treasurer Cloe Bretado, Technology & Social Media Director Clarissa Bretado, and Public Relations Director Mattie Smith .
We regularly organize community events, such as our upcoming collaboration with Love Midland on October 12, 2024, to engage more volunteers and make a broader impact across Midland .
