Our program provides compassionate care to veterans in their final stages of life, and we are seeking volunteers who share our mission of respect and dignity. We are looking for compassionate veteran volunteers to honor fellow veteran hospice patients in the Worthington area. Your role will be to provide support, share experiences, and create a meaningful connection that acknowledges their service and life stories. Key Responsibilities: Spend time with hospice patients, engaging in conversations that honor their military service and personal stories. Provide companionship and emotional support to patients and their families. Participate in commemorative activities, such as sharing military memorabilia or creating memory books. Help organize and participate in special events or recognition ceremonies that celebrate the lives of veteran patients. Qualifications: Must be a veteran of the armed forces. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A compassionate and respectful demeanor. Willingness to complete a background check, TB test and any necessary training.
