ABOUT ChromaLearn: Founded in 2023, ChromaLearn is dedicated to empowering underprivileged youth through quality education, fostering growth through guidance and mentorship, and providing exposure to invaluable knowledge and opportunities-all while ensuring everything remains free and accessible. In our first year, we have laid a strong foundation by assembling a team of passionate professionals alongside high school and college students, creating a unique dynamic for making a meaningful impact. We initiated a free online 1-on-1 tutoring with successful high school student tutors. Although we mainly focus on the students in the United States, we have tutored students in other countries as well. Currently, we are developing a blog feature designed to share meaningful lessons and to serve as a database for valuable opportunities that everyone can access. We aim to expand our services and launch helpful programs to change the lives of our future generations. Duties & Projects: Our website currently needs a Senior Web Developer to regularly manage, update, and add new features to it. The current and ongoing projects/tasks would be - Creating a resource page (like a blog post/forum) for anyone to contribute free resources and opportunities free for everyone, including underprivileged youth. Updating & Improving the tutor page by implementing booking features. (Goal: make it super easy and quick to book a session, automatically or manually pair students with tutors) Work closely with UI/UX designers to translate design specifications into high-quality, responsive, and accessible user interfaces. Oversee the website and develop new features on the website for new projects in the future, potentially leading to promotion to a full CTO title & responsibilities in the long term Qualifications & Experience Necessary for the Role: Based in the United States Available to respond to emails/messaging/inquiries within 24 hours Familiarity and/or ability to use Tailwind, Astro, Vercel, GitHub, Astro, Digitalocean for Directus app + database + s3 storage(not configured) + caching(not configured) Directus (for the Content Management System) Should be available to respond to emails/instant messaging within 24 hours; availability on weekends a plus Knowledge of our internal tools/software helpful (i.e. PMS Systems, Slack, Canva Pro, Google Workspace, etc.) Flexible schedule and able to work with team members across USA time zones Volunteer Benefits: We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that is fully run by an unpaid/volunteer staff. Although volunteers are not given a direct monetary stipend for their time commitment, our team members choose to volunteer with us for a variety of reasons that include but are not limited to - gaining experience for their resume, to learn about the inner workings of a nonprofit, they desire to take part in community service, they want to pursue an opportunity to build out current/new skills, the networking aspects of volunteering, or they simply resonate with the mission/cause of our organization as a whole. Duties & Projects/Key Responsibilities of our Content Creator/Social Media Manager: 1st Tier Needs - Social Media Strategy: Plan and implement strategies to grow ChromaLearn’s presence on platforms like Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, and others. Content Scheduling: Schedule and manage posts to ensure consistent, engaging content is published regularly. Audience Engagement: Respond to comments, messages, and interactions to foster a community and build relationships with supporters. Analytics Tracking: Monitor social media metrics and use insights to improve engagement and performance. Collaboration: Work closely with the Content Creator and Marketing Director to align social media content with campaigns and goals. Trend Awareness: Stay updated on social media trends and adapt strategies to keep content fresh and relevant. 2nd Tier Needs - Content Creation: Design engaging graphics, create videos, and produce other visual content that aligns with ChromaLearn’s branding and mission. Brand Consistency: Ensure all visuals maintain a cohesive look and feel consistent with ChromaLearn’s brand identity. Collaboration: Work with the Social Media Manager and Marketing Director to deliver content tailored to campaigns and goals. Multimedia Production: Editing videos, creating animations, and designing infographics to communicate ChromaLearn’s message effectively. Creative Input: Brainstorm and propose new content ideas to make campaigns more impactful. File Management: Organize and maintain a library of assets for future use. Qualifications & Experience Necessary for the Role: - Based in the United States - Available to respond to emails/messaging/inquiries within 24 hours - Knowledge of our tools/software helpful or willingness to learn (i.e. PMS Systems, Slack, Canva Pro, Google Workspace, etc.) - Interest, previous experience, and/or knowledge of the social media landscape & creating content for various types of audiences & industries - Willingness to take full ownership of community strategies, from ideation to execution - Strong digital & interactive understanding of both emerging & established platforms and the ever evolving landscape of audiences, communities, & behaviors - ability to communicate the brand/organzation and its positioning in a way that caters to each social app & platform - Excellent storytelling skills and up for collaborating with team members to pitch new ideas to further grow and engage our following Volunteer Perks: We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that is fully run by an unpaid/volunteer staff. Role Description/Needs: Teach and Support: Help students learn and improve in subjects like Math, English, or Science through one-on-one or group sessions. Prepare Lessons: Plan lessons or review materials to meet each student’s needs. Track Progress: Monitor how students are doing and adjust teaching methods as needed. Encourage and Motivate: Create a positive learning environment to build students’ confidence. Communicate: Keep in touch with students, parents (if needed), and ChromaLearn about schedules and progress. Follow Policies: Adhere to ChromaLearn’s guidelines and mission. As a tutor, you will set up a calendar where students can book sessions with you. You can almost tutor anything, either conventional or unconventional subjects. (We will guide you through the setup process) You can adjust your schedule however you like and whenever you're available. It is mandatory to have your camera on and show your face the whole session for safety reasons. You can earn DOUBLE service hours (e.g. 30min tutoring = 1 service hour, 1 hour tutoring = 2 service hours) The sessions will mostly be with middle school to high school students. Qualifications & Experience Necessary for the Role: - Based in the United States - Available to respond to emails/messaging/inquiries within 24 hours - Knowledge of our tools/software helpful or willingness to learn (i.e. PMS Systems, Slack, Canva Pro, Google Workspace, etc.) - Have device capable of using Google Meet or Zoom Volunteer Perks: We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that is fully run by an unpaid/volunteer staff.
