Mission Statement

The Village Cooks is a dedicated community of volunteer home chefs who care deeply about delicious, well-made food. We cook and deliver chef-inspired meals to neighbors in need, sharing the joy of our cooking and creating connections through food.

Description

The idea of The Village Cooks started in the midst of the pandemic when owners Scott and Michelle saw the massive food insecurity created or exacerbated by the crisis. Determined to make a difference, they leased a commercial kitchen space and enlisted the help of friends and family to provide "chef-inspired" meals to local families in need.

What began as a small, heartfelt effort quickly grew as the demand for meals continued to rise. Recognizing the need for a more sustainable solution, Scott and Michelle leased space in a commercial catering kitchen, enabling them to produce hundreds of meals in one day. This initiative inspired the concept of The Village Cooks you see today: a network of neighbors cooking for neighbors. By involving other passionate home cooks, they realized they could nourish far more people in the community.

  • Community Connection: We believe in creating connections through the sharing of delicious meals.
  • Empowerment: We empower home cooks to take their cooking to the next level and make a meaningful impact.
  • Nourishment: We strive to nourish our communities with healthy, homemade food.
  • Compassion: We want our neighbors to experience the joy of delicious food and the comfort of knowing someone in their community cares.
