Mission Statement

Mercy Housing is redefining affordable, low-income housing. We’re a national nonprofit organization that is working to build a more humane world where communities are healthy and all people can develop their full potential. Mercy Housing is one of the nation’s largest affordable housing organizations. We participate in the development, preservation, management and/or financing of affordable, program-enriched housing across the country. We acquire and renovate existing housing, as well as develop new affordable rental properties.

Description

Our Core Values of respect, justice, and mercy are the foundation of our work. They are more than words on a poster or a website. What these values mean is that we take concrete and deliberate action to listen and act in ways that will foster respect, justice, and mercy for all of us.

Respect A basic perspective and behavior which is attentive, considerate and shows special regard for the inherent dignity of persons and the sacredness of creation. Justice Ensure fair and equitable access, opportunity and advancement for all. Identify and eliminate barriers, including but not limited to racial discrimination, that prevent full participation of marginalized groups. Mercy The ability to see need and respond with compassion.
