Our mission is to create a sustainable future by helping adopt climate solutions within our communities and supporting future environmental leaders. By providing locally-tailored solutions for the Aurora/Naperville region, we can drive meaningful change and contribute to a healthier planet, while supporting a vibrant local economy and saving residents and businesses money.
Description
Accelerate Climate Solutions helps create future environmental and climate leaders through a number of student programs. Our flagship program is called BLAST - Building Leadership Around Sustainable Transformation. BLAST pairs high school students with mentors, bringing generations together, to develop projects across multiple disciplines to address pressing environmental problems. We also hire high school and college interns to create content for our website and social media, develop projects that support the circular economy and native ecosystems, and conduct business surveys and outreach, all while giving students job skills and helping them to become more sustainably-minded as they move forward in their education and careers. In addition to student programs, we conduct community outreach on electrification, energy efficiency, and renewable energy, ensuring that Naperville, Aurora, and surrounding communities realize the benefits of the green economy.
