OUR HISTORY In the Spring of 2016, the security firm, Stephen Group International LLC, was contracted to provide services for some of the local shelters in the Western Washington area. The team on the ground immediately noticed the need for clean dry socks amongst the homeless community and felt it necessary to help. That Christmas several security agents from Stephen Group International went to a local retail store and bought all the socks they could and gave them out to everyone they could find at the shelters. They handed out hundreds of pairs that year and it became a tradition. In 2018 the owner of SGI Jacob Stephen decided to take the idea a step further and founded a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Organization called SOX BOX. Navigating the Covid-19 pandemic and personnel challenges coupled with his strong desire to preserve his vision the organization remained idle until recently. January of 2022 he employed the help of a local well know community outreach worker. Dawn Michele Wilson came aboard as the Director of Development & Resources. She has been fast at work ever since to make SOX BOX a reality. And the rest is.........history in the making!
