What We’re Looking For: We're looking for people who are ready to change the world. Working with the rest of the Board, Our founder, and our team of volunteers, you'll make Our Safe Space all it can be. Our growth and influence is limited only by our imaginations and determination. Key Responsibilities: Serve as an ambassador for Our Safe Space, promoting our mission and programs within your networks. Collaborate with fellow board members to develop and implement organizational policies. Attend monthly board meetings and and strategic planning sessions. Support fundraising efforts and help secure resources to sustain and grow our programs. Qualifications: Ability to think strategically and work collaboratively. Holding the vision and working towards our goals - embracing thinking outside the box to get there. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. True Commitment to our mission and each other. Previous board experience is a plus but not required.

Our Safe Space founder Gayla Gongwer's energetic and vivacious personality, positivity, and humor create a welcoming and inclusive community. Through activities such as workshops on vision boarding, setting intentions, and other empowering topics; book discussions; and sharing of valuable resources in upbeat emails and social media posts, Gayla fosters a supportive space for connecting, learning, and developing new skills. Her cheerful, motivational spirit shines through in everything she does, from her engaging presentations to her creative Canva graphics. Her emails and social media posts also give helpful links to valuable information, tools, and strategies for personal as well as professional development.

Our Safe Space is a new organization and they are already offering so many free workshops and events where people can make friends, chat, creating vision boards, and learn important skills like storytelling. Gayla gave me a lot of freedom to help in any way I can and want to, so there’s really so many different ways to help support and grow this organization. Your skills will definitely be useful!
