Surmount is looking for a passionate and creative Marketing Coordinator Volunteer to join our team and help amplify our mission of empowering underserved individuals in marginalized communities. As a Marketing Coordinator Volunteer, you will play a crucial role in raising awareness, increasing engagement, and driving support for Surmount's initiatives through strategic marketing and communication efforts. Responsibilities your role may include: Social Media Management: Create and curate engaging content for Surmount's social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn. Develop a content calendar and schedule posts to ensure consistent and impactful messaging. Content Creation: Produce compelling written and visual content, including blog posts, articles, graphics, and videos, to share stories, highlight achievements, and communicate Surmount's impact. Collaborate with team members to gather content and ensure accuracy and relevance. Email Marketing: Design and execute email marketing campaigns to engage supporters, donors, and volunteers. Develop targeted messaging and segmentation strategies to personalize communication and drive action. Website Management: Assist in maintaining and updating Surmount's website with fresh content, news updates, and event information. Monitor website analytics to track performance and identify opportunities for optimization. Campaign Development: Support the development and execution of marketing campaigns and fundraising initiatives. Create promotional materials, landing pages, and digital assets to drive awareness and participation. Community Engagement: Engage with Surmount's community of supporters, partners, and stakeholders through online forums, groups, and discussions. Build relationships and foster connections to expand Surmount's reach and impact. Qualifications: - Strong passion for social justice, equity, and community empowerment. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Proficiency in social media management tools and platforms. - Creativity and attention to detail in content creation and design. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. - Experience with graphic design, video editing, or digital marketing (preferred but not required). Join the PB&J Drive: Fight Hunger, Make a Difference! The PB&J Drive is a month-long project where schools across NYC and Yonkers team up to raise awareness and take action against childhood hunger. Schools collect jars of peanut butter, nut butter, and jelly from students and the community, then host an exciting Bag Designing Day to create bags for packing meals. It's all about teaching students they have the power to help-and that support is out there for those in need. In 2024, we engaged 122 students, created 122 unique student-designed bags, and made 186 meals-all with the help of our local community. This year, we want to make an even bigger impact, and we need passionate volunteers like you to guide school student representitives through the drive and the activism day! What’s Involved: As a PB&J Impact Volunteer, you'll support students as they lead the collection drive and guide their peers through the activism day. Your role will include helping them stay on track and offering support when needed. It’s a 5-month commitment from January to May 2025, and we’d love for YOU to be part of this youth empowerment community action project! Requirements: You must live in Yonkers or NYC. Be willing to commute to your assigned school, twice (During school hours, decided with school partner). Be 18 years or older. Available for the following training dates and in-person events: January 8th, 10th, 15th, 17th, 24th, 31st, and April 11th & May 23rd. Ready to make an impact? Primary Responsibilities: 1. Administrative Support: Schedule team meetings and prepare meeting agendas. Take and distribute meeting notes, ensuring follow-up actions are clearly outlined. Maintain accurate records, including team documents and reports. 2. Logistics and Coordination: Manage logistics for team activities, events, and initiatives. Ensure team members have access to necessary tools, materials, and information. 3. Communication: Serve as a liaison between assigned teams and the Operations Manager. Send follow-up emails, reminders, and updates to team members as needed. 4. Task Management: Track team goals and milestones, ensuring tasks are progressing on schedule. Provide regular project status updates to the Operations Manager. Qualifications: Strong organizational and time-management skills. Effective communication abilities, both written and verbal. Proficiency in basic office tools (e.g., Google Workspace, Microsoft Office). Ability to work independently while coordinating with a team. A commitment to Surmount's mission and values.
