Serenity House Transitional Living Home for women and children is our pride and joy. This program provides a safe living environment for women 18-35 years old that are displaced or facing homelessness. Our 6 to 18 month program provides a holistic approach to equip women with life skills, tools and strategies to help them develop a roadmap to thrive on their own once they exit our program.

A close colleague recently sought assistance from Together We Are One during a difficult personal time. This individual, a respectful and honest person, was initially grateful simply to have a roof over her head despite being reluctantly accepted into the program. She and her family went above and beyond to adhere to house rules, but their efforts were met with unreasonable demands, insensitive comments, discriminatory assumptions, and physically unsafe expectations for someone with a disability. Communication from the leadership was limited to accusations and demands. When my colleague attempted to address these concerns, she was met with disrespect and was yelled at by Debbie, one of the leaders. The individuals running this organization should not present themselves as Christians or as a legitimate community support group. Their actions demonstrate a lack of genuine care. If you are in need of help, I strongly recommend seeking assistance elsewhere. This organization does not
