Join our vibrant team and help amplify the voices of teens who identify as girls! This Girl's Story, a teen girl-produced magazine, seeks passionate volunteers to join our Marketing/Outreach Committee. Your efforts will create awareness of our impactful work and engage a broader audience. Based in DuPage County, IL - much of the work can be done remotely. Key Responsibilities: Collaborative Campaigns: Work closely with the Fundraising Committee to develop and implement engaging marketing campaigns that promote our mission and events. Social Media Management: Create, schedule, and post content on our social media platforms to boost visibility and engagement. Event Promotion: Assist in marketing and promoting events to ensure maximum participation and success. Subscription Growth: Develop strategies to increase magazine subscriptions and reach more readers. Content Recruitment: Encourage content submissions from teens who identify as girls and are in high school or college up to age 19. Volunteer Recruitment: Help recruit volunteer editorial team members from the teen community. Community Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with partners, supporters, and the community to foster engagement and support. Qualifications: Passion for supporting teens who identify as girls and amplifying their voices. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Creativity and enthusiasm for developing marketing strategies and campaigns. Experience with social media platforms and content creation. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Basic understanding of marketing principles. Time Commitment: Minimum of 2 hours per month, flexible scheduling. Participation in regular committee meetings (frequency to be determined). As a Fundraising Volunteer, you will play a vital role in ensuring our magazine continues to thrive and reach more young readers. Based in DuPage County, IL - much of the work can be remote. Key Responsibilities: Planning Fundraising Activities: Collaborate with the fundraising committee to brainstorm, plan, and implement innovative and engaging fundraising events and campaigns. Grant Writing: Assist in researching potential grant opportunities, writing compelling grant proposals, and managing the submission process. Community Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with donors, sponsors, and community partners. Campaign Management: Help track the progress of fundraising initiatives, manage budgets, and report on outcomes. Marketing and Promotion: Work with the marketing team to promote fundraising activities through social media, newsletters, and other channels. Information Management: Includes maintaining fundraising databases, scheduling meetings, and preparing materials. Are you a high school or college student who identifies as a girl, and loves writing, art, photography, or creating videos? Do you want to make a difference and help amplify the voices of teens who identify as girls? Join the editorial team of This Girl's Story magazine and be part of an exciting journey to create and publish content that matters! Key Responsibilities: Theme Planning: Collaborate with the team to brainstorm and determine themes for magazine issues a year in advance. Submission Review: Read and review submissions, and work with the team to select the best content for each quarterly issue. Copyediting & Proofreading: Polish articles, artworks, and videos, ensuring they are ready for publication, while honoring the voices of the submitters. Weekly Blog Creation: Take turns creating a weekly blog post, choosing between writing, art, or video content. Communication: Engage with submitters, inform those selected of next steps, and gently notify those whose submissions were not chosen. Creative Solutions: Explore alternative options for submissions not selected for the magazine issue - perhaps a future issue or maybe a social media post? Design & Layout: Have a say in the design and layout of the magazine and video content, making it visually stunning and engaging.
