This Girls Story is seeking a detail-oriented and enthusiastic Event Coordinator to help plan and execute a variety of events. These include both in-person and hybrid (online and in-person) formats aimed at engaging our diverse audiences-from fundraising efforts to recruitment drives for our editorial team and content submissions for magazine issues. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to events that amplify the voices of teen girls and support our mission. Based in DuPage County, IL - much of the work can be done remotely. Key Responsibilities: Plan, organize, and coordinate events, both virtual and in-person, to support various organizational goals. Develop event timelines, set up registration, and manage event logistics (venue, equipment, materials). Coordinate with speakers, vendors, and volunteers to ensure successful execution of each event. Oversee event promotion in collaboration with the marketing/outreach team, including social media, email campaigns, and website updates. Assist with post-event follow-up, such as thank-you letters, surveys, and reporting event outcomes. Ensure a seamless hybrid experience when applicable, including managing online platforms and ensuring participant engagement. Qualifications: Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail. Experience with event planning and logistics. Ability to manage both in-person and virtual event platforms (e.g., Zoom, event registration tools). Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. Key Responsibilities: Theme Planning: Collaborate with the team to brainstorm and determine themes for magazine issues a year in advance. Submission Review: Read and review submissions, and work with the team to select the best content for each quarterly issue. Copyediting & Proofreading: Polish articles, artworks, and videos, ensuring they are ready for publication, while honoring the voices of the submitters. Weekly Blog Creation: Take turns creating a weekly blog post, choosing between writing, art, or video content. Creative Solutions: Explore alternative options for submissions not selected for the magazine issue - perhaps a future issue or maybe a social media post? Design & Layout: Have a say in the design and layout of the magazine and video content, making it visually stunning and engaging.
