Mission Statement
To strengthen the North Beach community and its businesses by sponsoring events that bring together family and friends through the Italian culture, language and history in which it was rooted, and by investing in issues and endeavors that elevate local commerce and create opportunities for North Beach to thrive.
Description
Non-profit branch of the SFIAC focused on elevating the community, culture and history of North Beach. In the past year, we were able to support Italian businesses, provide in scholarships, help expand Liberia Pino, launch multiple cultural events, and give directly to neighborhood charities.
Annual High School Sports Awards banquet, which honored 300 athletes and their families.
Statuto, the oldest foot race in San Francisco, attended by 230 runners and 300 family members.
Festa Coloniale Italiana a day of Italian food, culture, family, and concerts, enjoyed by over 1,000 neighbors. Brought countless customers to the neighborhood.
Painted North Beach the tricolore. Painted the crosswalks at Union and Stockton streets green, white and red and painted poles. Annual lighting of St. Peter & Paul Church during October Italian Heritage Month. Installed a Benvenuti a North Beach, Little Italy" sign welcoming all to the neighborhood.
Inaugural Pizza, Bagel & Beer Festival: 15 pizzerias led by Tony’s Pizza, bring positive attention to the community, and selling out at 1,500 attendees. From idea to fruition in just 21 months!
Two club family members were sent to Italy for a two-week experience of a lifetime via NIAF’s "Voyage of Discovery" program
