Mission Statement
The Therapeutic Artists Resource funds initiatives that provide communal care through creative studio space, living, and public events at the intersections of the psyche, spirit, art, and activism. We center queer and transgender individuals alongside expressive creation as a regenerative form of activism, trauma processing, and visioning the future’s potential. We believe through intentional collective articulation, reality becomes more understood and leads us to re-encounter our core self, experience bliss, and catalyze a sustainable future.
Description
We ran as a residency program that offered two year long seasons (and are in our third currently) of individual and group therapy to artists for free that acumilated in a solo and group show. In 2023 we became a larger umbrella and nonprofit with hopes to get free art materials/making space at events that are holding space for harder to process topics (queer and trans youth, activism, grief, etc.)/fun events too, start free art supplies boxes in communities, offer expressive art therapy workshops, programs to help develop youth into art entrepreneurs, and one day open a store front and or studio space for therapeutic arts. We have a lot of ideas and are seeking support to develop our ideas, fundraise, write grants, and were are open to what skills and creativity you may bring.
