When grandfamilies are supported, children thrive! Grandfamilies are created when a grandparent or other family member raises the child of a relative unable or unwilling to parent. Our mission is to provide 1) supportive services to grandfamilies and 2) education and training to health and human service providers.
Description
Meet the Fragile Families NETWORK, created in March 2020 by Dr. Glenda Clare, a Counselor, Counselor Educator, Social Scientist and Founder of the organization. She knows the challenges firsthand. After the death of her paternal aunt, Dr. Clare became the legal guardian for her cousin. Now, our mission is clear - support grandfamilies. We're here with practical services for caregivers, children and youth. But we're not stopping there. Health and human service providers, we're sharing the knowledge through training programs. We're not just an organization; we're a support network for the unsung heroes of grandfamilies.
