This position is responsible to assist patients, visitors, and employees with information needed as they enter one of our medical clinics. Including: Correct and clear directions, escorting patients/visitors, patient room numbers, assisting with the admission process, making deliveries, maintaining organized lobby, delivering mail, and other similar requests for assistance. If applicable: ensures medication security when coming in contact with any medication while performing one’s perspective duties. FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English. Must be able to move around the medical office on own without the need of assistance. Must have good communication skills in order to speak with and listen to patients, visitors, and employees. Must be able to function effectively on own or in conjunction with other Information Desk team members without the need for constant supervision. Reasonable accommodations may be requested and considered. KEY VOLUNTEER DUTIES Socially interact with a variety of personality types and age levels. Follow written and verbal directions. Ability to push patients/visitors in wheelchairs and escort patients throughout clinic. Maintain confidentiality of patient information. Answers Information Desk phone, transferring caller to appropriate department. Stays current on information. Uses translator phone to assist patients/visitors not able to converse in English. Follows opening and closing procedures, able to print volunteer lists.
