Bristol Hospice Dallas is currently seeking compassionate individuals to provide companionship and other support services to those on hospice services. Typical Volunteer Activities: Companion Volunteer: Spending time with patients, offering companionship and emotional support. Activity/Community Engagement Volunteer: Engage with our patients and community partners by helping with activities, events, and other special projects Family Support Volunteer: Alongside companionship for the patient, you can offer caregiver relief to family members by spending time with their loved one, giving them a moment of rest or a much needed break Qualifications and Requirements: No prior medical experience is required - Just a desire to support and comfort others. Bristol Hospice will provide necessary training and additional resources to aide you during your volunteer work Ability to volunteer on a regular basis, with flexible scheduling. Bristol Hospice does work with your schedule and availability. All volunteers must be at least 18 years or older to visit patients. All volunteers must complete the required onboarding: Interview, Verficiations (Background and reference checks, and TB Testing), Online Training, and Orientation. Why Volunteer with Us? Are you a musician with a passion for making a difference? Bristol Hospice Dallas is seeking talented music volunteers to provide therapeutic music and bring comfort to hospice patients. Your gift of music can offer emotional support, reduce anxiety, and create a peaceful, comforting atmosphere for patients and their families. As a music volunteer, you will: Perform live music for hospice patients, either individually or in small groups. You may asked to perform in a patient's private residence, residential group homes, or in facilities (nursing homes, assisted living, memory care, etc.) Offer a soothing, calming presence through son, instrumental music, or other forms of musical expression Provide comfort and companionship through music during visits Qualifications and Requirements: Musicians of all skill levels are welcome - whether you play an instrument, sing, or both Compassionate, empathetic, and respectful in your interactions with patients and their families No prior medical experience needed; training and support are provided by Bristol Hospice A flexible schedule and willingness to visit patients regularly Must be at least 18 years or older to visit patients Must complete all necessary requirements prior to starting volunteer work; Interview, Verifications (Background and reference checks, TB testing), Online Training, and Orientation. Are you a veteran looking to make a difference in the lives of fellow veterans on hospice services? Bristol Hospice Dallas is seeking compassionate veteran volunteers to provide companionship and other support services for our veteran hospice patients. Your shared experience and camaraderie can offer comfort and a sense of connection for those we serve. As a veteran volunteer, you will: Offer companionship and emotional support to fellow veterans on hospice services Share experiences, engage in conversation, and provide a listening ear Assist in non-medical tasks, such as reading, playing cards, or simply spending time together Help honor and celebrate the lives of fellow veterans through special recognition and activities throughout the year.
