Mission Statement
Faced with the disregard for non-motor symptoms associated with Parkinson's and the impact on the quality of life of patients that the current designation as a movement disorder implies, the mission of Resolve Parkinson's is to refocus the attention of all the actors and stakeholders on the reality that Parkinson's is not a disease, but a syndrome. Resolve Parkinson's will achieve this goal by drawing on the lived experience, expert knowledge, and resourcefulness of Parkinson's Syndrome patients. This knowledge and expertise will be used to promote and implement innovative approaches to change the path of Parkinson's.
Description
Resolve Parkinson's values the knowledge, experience, intelligence, and integrity of People living with Parkinson's Syndrome and champions their expert knowledge and capacity to create and support the development of innovative solutions to resolve their unmet medical needs. We, therefore, commit to becoming a trusted resource of knowledge from People with Parkinson's Syndrome for People with Parkinson's Syndrome. We also seek to become valued partners for the research and medical communities who share our views. Concomitantly, we seek to challenge the views of those who defend the motor-centric approach that has failed to deliver solutions to resolve Parkinson’s syndrome. We also understand the need for timely, implementable approaches to bring hope to those suffering from Parkinson’s Syndrome now.
