Mission Statement
Havenly builds the community power of refugee and immigrant women through job training, education, and organizing
Description
Havenly was founded in 2018 with a mission to break the cycle of marginalization that keeps refugee women in our city in poverty and isolation. Our flagship 6-month fellowship is a paid job training program that combines work experience at our restaurant with educational classes and community building activities. We are dedicated to creating community, sharing knowledge, and supporting our alumni as they advocate for themselves and their communities. Our Impact: To date, we have supported 50 refugee women and more than 350 family members, generating more than three quarters of a million dollars in income for refugee families. 80% of our graduates have found employment at a living wage, 100% have transitioned from cash assistance, and the average wage they are earning is $16.50/hour, compared to the $10 per hour wage that refugee women earn on average in the United States. We have volunteer opportunities in various departments and are looking for individuals who strongly believe in our mission to become a part of the Havenly community. Thank you for considering becoming a volunteer at Havenly. Together, we can create a more inclusive, empowered, and compassionate community for refugee and immigrant women.
